Congratulations – you’ve rounded up the kids, gotten everyone dressed and hit your favourite location for your Gold Coast family photoshoot session. Although your Wild River Photography session will be a fun and joyful experience for the whole family, as a little treat for everyone it can be nice to head out for a meal while you’re all looking sharp. If you’re in need of suggestions, here’s my quick round-up of some of the Gold Coast’s best venues for families.
If you guys can’t decide what to eat, Marketta is a great solution! Everyone can choose their own meal and you can grab a table to enjoy it while you take in the live music. It’s a great option for dinner after a sunset family photography session, and I would recommend getting there early as it can get quite busy.
This is perfect for post-session bites, especially if you choose to have your Gold Coast family photography session on the beach. Whether you choose to enjoy the weekend live music or you sit yourselves right by the pirate playground, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal after your session.
Backyard Cantina in Nobby Beach
If you’re looking for a space with plenty of room for the kids to play on a weekend, this is a great spot. Not only is there an excellent kid’s menu, there’s also room for you to put down a mat for them to relax and play on. My suggestion would be to head there straight after your session as nights can get busy.
Depending where you live on the Gold Coast, you may prefer to travel north and head to Southport Sharks. With a purpose-built supervised play area called the Wobbygongs Kids Fun Zone, you can enjoy a relaxed meal and know they are having fun!
The Sanctuary Markets
Another amazing Currumbin option is the Sanctuary Markets, which contributes funds to the wildlife sanctuary. Positioned just back from the Currumbin Beachfront at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary every Friday evening, there’s a great bunch of options for your family to enjoy. It is also a licenced venue and there are live tunes playing each night.
These are just a few of our favourite options on the Gold Coast, which are perfect for enjoying after your family photoshoot session. It’s a great idea to treat the kids (and parents!) to a night out after an afternoon shoot.
